In our county we can find some Missionary foundations whose purpose is to help the low-income and at-risk population living in the different districts of Atenas.
These non-profit organizations or Missionaries have left everything to come to our country (county) to bless hundreds of children and families who somehow require support to get ahead.
They have been maintained by Faith despite low financial resources with their motivation to share the word of God, so that many who have not experienced the love of Jesus Christ can know Him and get ahead knowing that God loves them and that He has a plan for them.
If you want to collaborate, we invite you to learn a little more about them. There are many ways in which we can, together, support these people to move forward with their ministry.
Let us support the generation of the future.
Preschool Pescaditos del Salvador
Our foundation, Pescaditos del Salvador, was created with the purpose of serving the most needy in our community. Our Nicaraguan brothers come to our country in search of better job opportunities to support their families. Mostly, entire families come; for this reason, the preschool program seeks to care for children by providing three meals a day from Monday through Friday while the harvest lasts. In addition to taking care of them, we teach about the word of God and share with their families the love of Jesus Christ.
One of the objectives of our project is to protect children from unsafe working environments, depriving them of the right to an education and healthy childhood experiences.
We receive support from a psychologist, a doctor, and direct care staff.
The financial resources we receive come from donations made by people all over the world. We continue to work and pray for more support so we can keep it open all year.
We also receive support through: Globe International, a local church, and groups and volunteers from other countries.

Our Mission is to provide support to families, students, and the school in the community of Santa Eulalia. We provide a safe place for students who need help with studies where they can complete assignments, extra class work, study for exams, and explore areas of science, art, and English. Our hope is to give students a feeling of being a special part of the community, share God's love with them, and encourage them to excel in academics and find their own personal strengths and abilities.

Hogar de Vida para la Niñez
Hogar de Vida (Costa Rica) was founded 18 years ago in the mountains of Atenas. It is now home to 35 children ages 0 to 8. There are more than 20 "tías" who are caretakers, a nurse, a teacher, a psychologist, and several administrators working together to raise these children. God has blessed us abundantly as we seek to do His will. Message us if you are interested in being a part of that blessing.
Matthew 25: “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."
The Hogar de Vida is an alternative for the protection, restoration and training of Costa Rican children at high social risk.
We want to be a bridge for all the people who pass by Hogar de Vida towards a life full of hope in Christ and in family.

Asociación de Mujeres Artesanas de San Isidro

Located. San Isidro, Atenas
A.M.A.S.I.A (Asociacion de Mujeres Artesanas de San Isidro Atenas) is an organisation created by two women in 1994. Their aim was to give creative women an opportunity to earn, with association to INAMU (Instituto Nacional de la Mujeres), which aims to give women new opportunities and protection in a patriarchal society. Today, AMASIA grows various house plants to be sold, and also are hoping to offer the service of Comida Tipica cooking lessons, as well as orders (both individual and bulk orders for events).
In the early years of the organisation, there were 30+ women working at the compound. However, over time various commitments have caused numbers to drop. The four remaining ladies are doing an incredible job at keeping this place going. Previous investments have helped facilitate the compound and diversify its products but the women are most happy now. One of AMASIA's founders Celia stated "estamos traquillos porqué no debemos nada. Entonces estamos libres" (Translation: We are calm, because we don't owe nothing. So we are free).
However, as the years pass by, it is evermore difficult for the ladies of AMASIA to fund this place. Whilst they used to sell at La Ferria, the cost of the pitch as well as transport takes a vast proportion of their earnings. Not only this but as this small group of women get older, this is proving too much for them. Cutting off this selling opportunity provides a threat to their weekly income.
To ensure the survival of this organisation, they need your support. Though they are no longer appearing at La Ferria, they are opening their doors, offering new and exciting things. AMASIA kitchen has had a makeover thanks to Barbara, a volunteer from the Greenpet Foundation; ready for your arrival. We want you to choose AMASIA as your plant provider, to support locally grown products and the women of your community.
The women of AMASIA can't wait to show off their greenhouse filled with plants, and their cooking skills passed down through generations. Please refer to our Facebook page @AmasiaCostaRica for photos of products as well as a rough price guideline.
Please call 8887 7828 (Marlene) or 2446 4413 (Celia) (for Spanish) or message our Facebook page (for English) to arrange a visit to AMASIA or for more information.
All help is welcomed, including volunteering your time.
